About Me
Diana was born & educated in Surrey and has remained close to her roots.
She had a very varied working background starting in science research, then lecturing, moving on to developing a successful family clothing business.
Only later did Diana pursue her real passion for art. With no formal art training her science research work came in handy giving her a fearless approach for experimentation in all mark making media. With an enquiring mind and a rebellious streak Diana firmly believes that all rules are made for breaking !
It was a long time before Diana was persuaded to exhibit her artwork. The response was such that she is now painting full time with regular group and solo exhibitions.Diana finds it a continual source of amazement and joy that something she has enjoyed painting so much also gives pleasure to others.
Dianas constant challenge is to capture movement in its many forms – from human dancers in dance halls to fields of wild flowers dancing in the breeze, musicians playing their hearts out and angry heavy clouds thundering across the sky in a storm. Diana does not keep still and she does not expect her subjects to keep still either.
Diana has had work selected & hung at the Mall Galleries in London . She was also voted in the top ten Surrey artists 2010 . In 2012 she was awarded a prize in the Bachuus Exhibition at Denbies Gallery.
Dianas work can be found in many private and corporate collections.
