Flowers
My flower paintings are in no way meant to be botanical, they are expressive of how flowers make me feel.
If someone is kind enough to give me a bouquet I always paint it before the flowers die.
I love the contemporary flower designs in modern arrangements with the clash of bold bright colours. These are often best achieved in a painting when using silk dyes although there is minimal control over the medium - this is probably why I enjoy it so much.
I really think flowers are best painted when growing in their natural environment which is what I have attempted to show with these examples of work.
